LexOslo was founded by attorney Harald Sætermo. He has more than 25 years of experience from private practice and the banking sector, including senior positions at leading law firms and as group counsel for one of Norway’s and Europe’s largest banks. His work has included advising Norwegian and international financial-sector clients on regulatory, transactional, commercial and contentious matters.

LexOslo was established to continue and develop this practice in a focused setting, with close client relationships, direct senior involvement and advice grounded in an understanding of both the legal issues and the client’s business.

Where a matter extends beyond Norway, we work with relevant foreign counsel and other advisers and can coordinate legal work across jurisdictions.

Oslo and the Tiger
The name LexOslo combines lex - Latin for law - with Oslo, our home base. Our symbol, the Oslo Tiger, is inspired by the city’s nickname, Tigerstaden, a term associated with a 19th-century poem by the Norwegian writer Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson.

Although based in Oslo, we advise clients throughout Norway and internationally, with an understanding of the local and regional contexts in which they operate.
