LexOslo was founded by attorney Harald Sætermo. With more than 25 years of experience, including senior positions at leading law firms and as group counsel for one of Norway’s and Europe’s largest banks, he brings extensive expertise in advising the Norwegian and international financial sector on regulatory matters, transactions, and dispute resolution. LexOslo was founded to further develop this practice in the way we believe best serves our clients, through close client relationships and focused legal advice.

Most of our work has an international dimension. We have extensive experience assisting international businesses establishing and operating in Norway, as well as supporting Norwegian companies in cross-border legal matters.

We are subject to the Norwegian Advokatloven (Lawyers Act), Advokatforskriften (Lawyers Regulations), and the Code of Ethics for Lawyers, as well as other legal requirements for practicing law in Norway. We comply with statutory audit and reporting obligations to the Supervisory Authority and maintain the required security deposits and insurance coverage.

Oslo and the Tiger
LexOslo combines lex - Latin for law - with Oslo, our home base. Our symbol, the Oslo Tiger, is inspired by the city’s nickname Tigerstaden, a term dating back to the 19th century and a poem by Norwegian poet Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson. 

That said, we assist businesses across the country and internationally, with an understanding of local and regional contexts.
